LEO ALARIE It is great sadness that we announce the passing of our father and our pêperé. He passed away after a brief illness on April 30, 2015, just two days short of his 93rd birthday. Dad was born, raised and lived the majority of his life in Elie, Manitoba. As a returning war vet, Dad was very involved in the community as a member of the school board and Caisse Populaire. Dad loved his job as a diesel mechanic and worked for Chabot Farm Implements for over 50 years. He is survived by his children, René (Barbara), Roger (Vivian), Rheal (Susan), Lucille (Brock) and Claude (Colleen); grandchildren, Elaine, Tara, Ryan, Desiree, Christine, Kaitlynn and Carter; and great-grandson Niko. He is also survived by his sisters, Yvonne Dupont and Rita Bernardin; a brother Henry Alarie, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Therese and son Mark, as well as many other family members. Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Elie Blessed Sacrament Church on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. with Father John Legitimas officiating. Interment to follow in the Parish Cemetery We would like to thank the caring nurses on the fourth floor at Victoria hospital and the terrific staff at Foyer Valade.   • Sorry to hear of the passing of your father. I knew your father not only as a good mechanic and community leader but as someone who was dedicated to his family.   • I have known him since I can remember as a mechanic, financial advisor, friend, and my combine operator. Leo could fix anything from kids toys to 4 wheel drive tractors and combines. He left a great legacy to the farming community for honesty,integrity, dedication to hey the job done right.
