DONALD (DON) DAVID WILCOX August 6, 1924 April 30, 2015 With deepest sorrow, we announce the passing of Don at the age of 90 years at the Concordia Hospital in Winnipeg. He is survived by his children: Marlene (Art), Elaine, Marilyn, and Mike (Donna); grandchildren: Deanna (Wayne), Kathy (Rob), Shawn (Lisa), Shaunna (Jeff), Mike, Kalyn (Bryan), Tanya, Cole, Samantha and Tyler; great-grandchildren: Emalie, Jesse, Justin, Reid, Emma, Raelyn, Logan, Agustus, Digby, and many nieces and nephews. Previously deceased by his father David, daughter Carolyn, sister Violet, mother Adelaide, wife Isabella (divorced), sister Ruth, and daughter-in-law Myrna. Don served in the RCAF during the Second World War. His career as a Carpenter included building schools and then on to Winnipeg to work for the Department of National Defense. He then moved to Treherne for six years and then back to Winnipeg. In younger years, his passions were gardening, fishing, collecting stamps and coins, and spending time with his children. He loved to bake and cook for family and friends, and do Sudoku in his spare time. He also loved to play cards with his friends and neighbours at Lions Place. Don was a very loving and likeable man with a great sense of humour. He was a wonderful father, who always put his family first. His children were his life and meant everything to him. Donations can be made to CNIB or the Arthritis Foundation. A celebration of Don's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 7, at Cropo Funeral Chapel at 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba. 204-586-8044

  • I have been a friend of the family for more than 40 years. He was an amazing man with many talents and interests and he never ceased to impress me. His generosity was selfless and he lived for his children. There would be nothing he would not do for them if it were in his power. Don was truly and Angel here on earth and now one in heaven. Rest in Peace Don. - Posted by: Leslie Thompson Goulet (Friend of the Family) on: May 04, 2015
