GEORGIA ANDROMIDAS It is with great sorrow that the family of Georgia Andromidas announces her passing, after a brief battle with cancer, on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Georgia was born August 12, 1932 in Geraka, Greece to John and Theodora Tsavalas. She was united in marriage to John Andromidas in 1954 and spent 58 happy years raising a family, building a business and enjoying life. She moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba with her family in 1972 but her heart never left Greece. She returned to the family home in Greece every opportunity she could with her husband to visit friends and family. These trips would always re-energize her spirits. Georgia and John established their family business in 1977. What started out as a small 25 seat diner was built up to a successful family restaurant through their hard work and determination. Qualities that were instilled in their children and whose success is testament to her inspirational influence. More than anything Georgia loved spending time with her family. She was always ready with a good meal and stories of life in the old country. Her gardening skills were a wonder to us all. A walk through the back yard was a marvel to behold. Rarely would you leave the house after a visit without either a bagful of home grown vegetables or a home cooked meal, usually both. Georgia was predeceased by her husband John in 2012. She is survived by her six children Maria (Tarek), Lula (Paul), Nick (Maria), Phil (Angela), Peter (Kim), Jimmy (Tammy), 16 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, her sister Phylis and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at CancerCare and the doctors, nurses and nurse practitioners at the St. Boniface Hospital for all their support and wonderful care they provided our mother in her last days. Prayers will be held on Monday, May 4 at 7:00 p.m. with funeral service to be held on Tuesday, May 5 at 12:00 p.m. both at the St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church at 2255 Grant Ave. The Coutu Family in care of arrangements: E.J.
