ALEX SHEWCHUK It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Alex Shewchuk, father of Debbie (Art) Doerksen, Dave (Connie) Shewchuk and one and only beautiful granddaughter Maisy Mary-Jean Shewchuk. Alex passed away on May 7, 2015, at the Middlechurch Nursing Home. He was pre-deceased by his wife Mary, September 3, 2003, his parents John and Mary Shewchuk, brother Steve. Alex was born March 7, 1927 in Ukraine and came to Canada in 1937 and lived on the farm in Elma, MB with his family. He started work at an early age with the CNR on the gangs. Alex resided in Transcona in 1960 and worked in the Engineering yard from September, 1956 to retirement in March, 1987. Special thanks to N1 staff in Middlechurch. Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at Wheeler Funeral Home, 1800 Day Street. Viewing at 9:30 a.m., funeral at 10:00a.m. Burial directly after the service at Transcona Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society or Middlechurch Nursing Home.
