My deepest sympathy goes out to the Calder family. Having known Vernon and the family for many years, I certainly shared many good times and laughs with them. Some of the favorites was golfing the yearly tournament, somehow Vernon made a few less strokes than he thought anyone saw. We would tease him about..... all good memories RIP......Sandra Colles - Posted by: sandra colles (close family friend) on: Jun 03, 2015

I was very happy to be able to count Vern among my friends. He was always an aristocrat in the best sense of the word. We golfed together once as teenagers. I borrowed my father's car and Vern and I and another kid drove to the Wpg Beach course and golfed free after the course had officially closed for the season. We might have been 17 or 18. We reconnected years later at Oscar Cantin's old-timers reunions and my wife Joyce and I enjoyed socializing with Vern. I am very sorry to hear of his passing. It's a great loss. - Posted by: Bob Glendinning (Classmate in Selkirk Collegiate) on: May 25, 2015

Sorry to hear he passed away. Mr Calder was a pleasure to talk to and was a very knowledgeable hockey man. As well as being a fine player in his own right. He will be missed. - Posted by: Jimmie Skinner jr (friend) on: May 20, 2015
