  • I remember Ellen when we lived in Grand Rapids in '82. Ellen did such beautiful crotchet and she made me a round cover for my coffee table. My husband worked in the hatchery with her nephew. I wish all the family my condolences in their loss of such a great woman. Quiet and vibrant. I still remember her laugh. Sorry for your loss. - Posted by: Donna Toews(Sveinson) (friend) on: May 22, 2015

  • I have many fond memories of Ellen. The ones that stand out after over forty years are ..... She always made me feel at home when I would show up for lunch on a school day. The kitchen would be full of people but she always had room for one more. Of course after school was also so special because Lillian and I would toast Ellen's home made bread on the special stove top toaster and smother it with peanut butter. So good! She was a lovely lady and will be missed greatly by so many. Hugs to all of you. - Posted by: Brenda Cinq-Mars (friend) on: May 22, 2015
