Born: Jan 31, 1927
Date of Passing: Jun 04, 2015
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWOLTER BOS January 31, 1927 - June 4, 2015 Peacefully on June 4, 2015 at Grace Hospital, with his daughter Karen and son-in-law Rob by his side. Predeceased by his wife May and his daughter Chrystal, Wolter leaves to remember him with love: his daughters Marsha Kehler, Karen Springett (Rob), his son Jan (Victoria), 13 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Born and raised in The Netherlands, Wolter was the second youngest of eight children. He was underage when he joined the army and spent the last two years of his term as a military police officer in Indonesia. He landed in Australia after the war and spent eight years there and this is where he met and married the great love of his life, May. They moved back to May's native Glasgow, Scotland and became a family of four. Wolter and family immigrated to Winnipeg in May 1965. Summers at their cottage on Brereton Lake with their family and dogs was their paradise which included fishing and entertaining with close friends. Dad never fully recovered physically from a major car accident some years ago. He desperately wanted to maintain his independence and was able to remain at home with the help of the Homecare Ladies. Wolter looked forward to their visits each day. Stories were exchanged and personal bonds were formed. This last hospital stay proved too much for his ailing body. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 8th, 1:30 p.m. at Harrow United Church on the corner of Mulvey Avenue and Harrow Street. Cremation has taken place.
