THORDUR ROBERT (BOB) IAN ISFELD Sadly on Monday, June 1, 2015, at the Gimli Community Health Centre, Thordur Robert (Bob) Ian Isfeld passed away. Bob was born in Gimli on June 10, 1932 to parents Fanney and Johnny. He was predeceased by his parents and in-laws; his wife Gudrun; brother Allan; sister Audrey White; brothers-in-law Fred White and Ray Jacobson, and niece Janice Dankochik. He leaves to mourn his passing his son Ian; daughter Donna (Kenny); grandsons Chris (Felicia), Janel (Terance), Jason, and great- grandchildren Thora and Kiana. He also leaves behind his sister Maria Franz (Vern); sisters-in-law June Isfeld, Gloria Goodman (Gordy), Sandy Jacobson, and Jeannette Jonasson (Baldur); brother-in-law Gestur Jacobson (Olive), and numerous nieces and nephews. Dad worked as a civil servant for the Canadian Armed Forces for 32 years. He would often use holiday time and weekends to help his father and brother commercial fish. Dad was a handyman and could fix pretty well anything. He had a generous nature, a hard working attitude and a shirt-off-his-back mentality. He was a family man, a story teller and a prankster. His life changed in 2006, he lost his wife and with health complications he could no longer look after himself. With heart-felt gratitude, the family wishes to thank the staff at Betel Home for the wonderful care and support they provided him. Also, we wish to thank Dr. R. C. Patel and the staff at the Gimli Community Health Centre for their ardent effort and compassion. Viewing will be held on Saturday, June 6 from 1:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Gimli MB. A graveside service will take place in the Husavik Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. with coffee to follow at Minerva Hall. All are welcome. Gilbart Funeral Home, Gimli in care of arrangements. www.gilbartfuneralhome.com
