Helen was predeceased by her father Norman Charles Pydee and her mother Mary Louise Pydee (nee Sterzer). Helen's death will be mourned by her relatives, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. Helen grew up in the North Kildonan area of Winnipeg, MB, where she also attended school. She moved with her mother to Petersfield, MB in 1995 and later to Winnipeg Beach. Helen worked for the family business Pydee Engineering, prior to the family selling the business. Helen was currently working for Interlake Regional Health Authority as a Home Care Worker. She enjoyed the daily interaction with her clients and helping others. Her interests included reading books and watching movies of all types. Helen, you were my best friend through late elementary and Jr High years. We were inseparable. I think I lived more at your house than my own. Your Mom was like my second Mom. How she put up with all of us kids I'll never know. You and I got into a lot of mischief together, had many secrets, talked about our first kiss with boys, experimented with smoking cigarettes, etc. We watched lots of movies, played lots of music, learned to dance, and sing and all those teenage crushes on Movie stars, (Shawn Cassidy, Leif Garret). We learned to roller skate, went to the zoo and skateboarded. And the miles we road on our bikes. I tried to connect again with you in the last few years, only wish I had tried harder! Rest in peace my friend. I am sure that you had many fur friends waiting for you at rainbow bridge and of course your Mom. Helen was my favorite cousin. She was a strong woman and I'll always remember the childhood memories while growing up. Swimming at Aunty Lou and Uncle Norman's place and fun times at the cabin in Matlock. I'll miss you Helen. Chris - Posted by: Chris Hauser (Cousin) on: Jun 12, 2015

Helen came into my life when she "bought" a ferret at a garage sale. Her intention was to surrender it. When she called in the morning to drop the ferret off, she had given the ferret a name - Sadie! In that moment I knew she was in love with ferrets. She kept Sadie and her ferret family grew over the years; taking in the old and broken that no one else wanted. Over the last 10 years we have become the best of friends, no more like sisters. We have laughed and argued and cried together. We spoke or texted every day or two. I helped her every summer with the garage sales and I HATE garage sales - so you can tell how persuasive she was! The hole in my heart is huge. I miss her so much sometimes I can't breath. When it gets too hard, I hug her favorite ferret Rango and feel a little closer to her. Love you Helen, be waiting at the Rainbow Bridge for me and don't be late! - Posted by: Deb Kelley (best friend and shelter mom for Man. Ferret Association) on: Jun 11, 2015

Helen was a strong supporter of the Rescue. She shared her home and heart with the old and sick ferrets that could not be adopted out. Ozzy and Taz are just two of the fuzzy butts that were in her care and now will be loved by me and my family. Helen I promise to keep them safe and loved till they can join you across the Rainbow Bridge.
