JOHANNES (JOHN) AMEDICK 1929 - 2015 Johannes, better known as John, passed away peacefully after a short illness on Saturday, June 13, 2015, at the age of 85 years. He is survived by his sons: John (Sandra), grandchildren Sebastian, Kevin; Frank (Lori), grandchildren Chad, Allison; and daughter Rita (Dirk) Kleinholz. John was born in Westphalia, Germany, and in 1955 immigrated to Canada by ship across the Atlantic to Quebec City, and train half way across Canada to Winnipeg in order to pursue his career as a skilled mason and follow the passion of his early years of fishing and hunting and later years of beekeeping. His life's professional journey took the family and him for a five year period to Los Angeles, California, but his passion for the outdoors brought him and the family permanently back to Winnipeg. The family would like to thank his nurse Edith for being the wonderful person she is! We will be forever grateful. In keeping with John's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service celebrating his life will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald Street. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in memory of Johannes may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association. Loving Memories Last Forever. E.J. Coutu & Co. Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • I knew Johann through his sons John and Frank in the Scouts. He was reflected in them and they were fine boys. Es war einmal ein Mal... - Posted by: Dr Robert McKeon (Scout leader) on: Oct 25, 2019

  • John was well liked and will be missed by his Branch 141 friends. - Posted by: Branch 141 Legion () on: Jun 20, 2015

  • My Father and John were good friends from way back, they worked together as they were both bricklayers I believe. As my Dad aged John would come by for visits and always brought baking to share, proud of his German Chocolate cakes, he celebrated my parent's 50th Anniversary with us and memories are very dear of our visits. I have lost my Mom and Dad both this January so I truly know they will reconnect upstairs. My prayers go out to all family members of this wonderful Man.
