ALBERDINA (DIEN) ANDERSON July 21, 1944 - June 26, 2015 With her family by her side, after a lengthy battle with cancer, it is with saddened hearts that Alberdina Anderson, aged 70, passed away on Friday, June 26, 2015. Alberdina was predeceased by her husband Gordon Anderson, and her parents, Willem and Anna Schluter. Alberdina was born in Groningen, Netherlands on July 21, 1944. Alberdina immigrated to Saskatchewan in June 1951, when Mom was eight years old. Later her family moved to Selkirk in June 1952. She graduated and started working at the Selkirk Mental Health Centre, where she met her husband Gordon Anderson and later married in November 1964. Mom leaves to mourn her children, Craig (Debbie), Randy, Laurie, Lisa (Perry), Lynda (Mark) and Bill (Kathy); grandchildren, David (Kate), Lindsay (David), Daniel (Chelsey), Candice (Andrew), Michele (Justin), Gordie (Jenna), Andrew (Alana), Jennifer (Luke), Megan (Armin), Joel, Caitlyn (Sam), Owen, Jordan, Evan and Janna; and her great-grandchildren, Ethan, Mikayla, Lila, Caden, Devon, Armin, Elias, Ellie and the soon to arrive, Baby Binner. Mom is survived by her brothers, Joe and Siert (Mary), all extended family members and friends, including her longtime friend Lorraine Thurston. Alberdina's family was so important to her as she was involved in various children's activities. She enjoyed many special events such as sleepovers, shopping and watching many sporting events. Mom, you meant so much to so many people. You had a friendliness and warmth that welcomed all who talked to you. A celebration of Mom's life will be held on Thursday, July 2 at 11:00 a.m. at the Knox Presbyterian Church, 341 Eveline Street, Selkirk with Rev. Brenda Fraser officiating. Interment will follow the luncheon at Cloverdale United Church, at 805 Cloverdale Road. Special thanks to all who cared for Mom at the Selkirk General Hospital during her lengthy stay in the hospital. We are thankful for your assistance, thoughtfulness and kindness you showed Mom. Special thanks to Anthon Bouw for his spiritual guidance through this journey. Mom's faith in God showed in her by being peaceful and strong while fighting cancer. In lieu of flowers, you can send a donation in Alberdina's memory to CancerCare Manitoba, at 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. Mom, you have fought hard through this journey and we thank you for all you did for us. You showed true strength, dignity, and courage as you did not complain about anything that had to be done to help you get better. We will always love you and now you are in Heaven watching over us. God Bless you Mom. We all love you so much, and we will miss you always. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements. www.gilbartfuneralhome.com

Dien you will be missed by all whose paths crossed yours, you were my bridesmaid and I thank you for that - we have been friends for so many years and though we didn't live near to each other, and when we met on my visits to Selkirk it was if I had never been away. I remember the fun times at your Mom & Dad's after school. Rest in peace my dear friend, my condolences to your family and especially Johan and Siert - Posted by: Sharon (Moore) Ozouf (friend) on: Jul 01, 2015
