GIUSEPPE PASSANTE March 19, 1922 - July 1, 2015 On July 1, 2015, surrounded by his family, Giuseppe left this world to join the love of his life Santina, his son Carmelo, infant daughter Anna Maria, and all his siblings. He was predeceased by his son-in-law Renaldo and daughter-in-law Marlene. He leaves to cherish his memory his son Tino (Antonia), daughters Pierina (Manuel), Grace (Allan), Lucy (Luigi), and Silvana (Domenic), 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and relatives in Winnipeg, Vancouver and Italy. Giuseppe was born on March 19, 1922 in Catania, Sicily, Italy. In 1958 he chose to come to Canada hoping to provide a better life for his family. Giuseppe worked hard to provide for his family and helped to bring a lot of extended family to Canada for a better life. The family would like to thank his nephew, Tino for being his private barber. Also the staff of Misericordia Place, 3rd floor for the wonderful care they provided for our father, and the nurses of the 4th floor at Victoria Hospital. Mass of the Resurrection will be held at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 510 River Ave. on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at 11:00 a.m., viewing and condolences are one hour prior to the Mass. Reverend Father Sam Argenziano celebrant. Entombment to follow in the Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB. Pallbearers will be his six grandsons. In lieu of flowers, if friends and family so desire, contributions may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation. I am truly saddened on hearing the news that Zio Joe has passed away. I remember how he livened up any family event with his stories, jokes and especially his dancing. I recall Mr Passante coming to the daycare. He always danced for the kids and they always loved it. So did we:) Made us happy. His Daughter always pretended to be embarrassed...but we knew she loved it as much as we did.
