RAYMOND MARC VINCK It is with deep sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Raymond Marc Vinck, Dad, Uncle Dudie (49), on Monday, July 6, 2015, in the ICU at St. Boniface Hospital, with family by his side. He was predeceased by his grandmother Cecile Vinck, his grandfather Clement Vinck and his father Roland Vinck. He is survived by his children Brittany, Garrett and Samantha, his mother Linda Vinck; his brothers, Darren (Sheilah), Brent, Jeff (Daina) and Tyler (Lynette.) As well as nieces, Breann and Andrea; and nephews, Matthew, Brady, Ryland, Liam, Nate, Zachary, Josiah and many more loved ones. Ray was born on November 8, 1965 at St. Boniface Hospital. He attended Frontenac School in Windsor Park until grade four, Morse Place until grade six and Melita until Graduation. At the age of 15, Ray was involved in an accident that resulted in a spinal cord injury which required months and months of rehabilitation. Ray worked hard and was able to graduate with his peers, along with extra credits. After graduation, Ray attended Red River Community College in Winnipeg. Once he completed his business administration certificate, he moved back to Melita and started his career within the Credit Union. Finishing off as the Vice President of the Selkirk Branch, Ray retired from the Credit Union for personal reasons after almost 30 years of service. During Ray's free time, he loved watching and supporting family and friends in sports or any activities they were involved in. He had so much love for his kids and all kids in general. Ray had a passion for sports, you name it, he watched it. Hockey was his all time favourite, he was a Winnipeg Jets and New Jersey Devils fan. He was very fond of the New Jersey Devils' Martin Brodeur, as Ray played hockey for many years as a goal tender. Ray was into collecting Coca-Cola antiques, or anything to do with Coca-Cola. Ray also really loved his cars, he was always sporting some kind of sports car. He also enjoyed poker nights with his buddies, as well as coffee talk at Timmies or McDonalds with "The Gang". Raymond was nothing short of a fighter, the most humble fighter I've had the pleasure of knowing. He was cherished and loved by many. He will be greatly missed. A celebration of life for our dad, Raymond Marc Vinck, will be held on Monday, July 13, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel in Selkirk, MB. Burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ray's memory can be made to the Spinal Cord Research Center, 409 BMSB, 745 Bannatyne Ave., Winnipeg, Manitoba R3E 0J9. Condolences & Memories (12 entries)

  • Missing you a lot lately dad, I just started school this week. We talked so much about me starting nursing school, especially while you were in the hospital for those last few months. You were nothing but excited & proud of me for finally taking this leap. You are a huge part of why I finally decided to just do it. Not just because of you getting ill, but because I grew up & looking at just how incredibly successful you were, I knew it was possible. No matter what life threw your way, you found a way to power through it. I miss you literally every single day dad. I wish you were here, but where ever you are now, I hope it's as beautiful as I imagine, with all the hockey, Shiraz wine & coca cola antiques. - Posted by: Brittany Vinck (Daughter ) on: Sep 12, 2015

  • There has not been one second that you haven't been on my mind. Words cannot express the sadness in my heart from missing you so much. I wish time could go back to all the memories we got to share together, but they will always be in my heart. From the start, I was daddy's little girl. From taking me and being my personal cheerleader for every ringette & hockey game, even including practices, from holding my hand while I got stitches. You taught me how to drive, especially parallel parking because I just couldn't seem to get that down, but you made sure I aced it before my road test, and I did. You were my greatest teacher and an inspiration for me to know that if I want something badly enough, I just have to work hard enough. I could go on for hours about you dad. I wish I had more time with you. I would trade anything, just to see you again, but I know I will see you again someday. I love you so much. Always in my thoughts, prayers, memories and most of all, my heart. RIP, my guardian angel. I know you'll look out for all of us. <3 - Posted by: Samantha Vinck (Daughter ) on: Jul 11, 2015
