Gloe was a fine poet who never reached her full potential, in part because of her many other interests. She was a regular visitor of mine during the year I was writer-in-residence in Winnipeg in the mid-90s, when she was just starting to come into her own as a poet, and we remained in contact after that, seeing each other from time to time. She had a purity of spirit and love of life much to be admired. I'll miss her. - Posted by: Dave Margoshes (friend) on: Jul 18, 2015

Gloe was very special -- so full of life, so creative and generous. It was her way to be by giving gifts of joy, kind gestures, and very touching and beautiful poems. I'm glad she found me back in 2006 after almost two decades of not being in touch. Out brief encounters in New York and Seattle will be carved in my memory forever. My deepest sympathy goes to you, Jon, with many thanks for being there for her whenever she needed support and kind words. - Posted by: Maria Rewakowicz (Friend) on: Jul 18, 2015

I will always remember Gloe, and although I have not seen her for the past several years I have continued to admire her creativity that was shown even as a child. I will never forget when I first visited her home and saw the walls she had created in her bedrooom! She was truly unique, and I have admired her all of these years, often wondering what creative endeavours she has accomplished. Suzanne, I am so very sorry for your loss! I know that Gloe was your only sibling, and I cannot even imagine how you are suffering. I truly value the friendship we had as children, have often thought about you and wished we were still in contact. My heart is with you at this difficult time. Jon, I have never met you, but I am grateful to know that you have been such a positive part of Gloe's life for the past several years. I am so very sorry for your loss. - Posted by: Helen Coish (nee: Brekelmans) (previous neighbour and friend) on: Jul 18, 2015

"What we have once enjoyed, we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us." -Helen Keller I wish I would of had the chance to meet Gloe and to have had both of you out to the farm. She would have loved to have seen our fox family and all our other farm critters. My thought are with you Jon. - Posted by: Donna Boiteau (Co-worker of Jon) on: Jul 17, 2015
