Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWESLEY LIWISKI Peacefully, with his loving family by his side, Wesley passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2015 at the age of 84 years. He will be missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 64 years, Frances; son Ken (Ruth); daughters, Marlene (Barrie Cooke) and Brenda (Roy Hennessy) grandchildren, Kyle Cooke (Lindsey), Tyler Cooke and Corey Cooke; great-grandchildren Colby and Ellie. He will be sadly missed by his sisters, Rosalene Maksymetz and Jeanette Todoruk, as well as many nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. Wesley was predeceased by his parents, Matt and Mary Liwiski; his brother, Walter; his parents-in-law, Mike and Mary Tokar; and brothers-in-law, Carl Tokar and Michael Maksymetz. Wesley was born on February 15, 1931 in Dauphin, Manitoba and was raised in the Gilbert Plains district. He farmed in the area for many years, eventually moving his family to Winnipeg in 1969, where he worked as a carpenter and then as a driver for Winnipeg Transit for 21 years until he retired in 1996. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church, 505 Watt Street, with Rev. Dr. Michael Kwiatkowski officiating. Interment to follow in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens, 4477 Main Street. The family would like to thank Wesley's physicians, Dr. Dennis Caners and Dr. Hugh Smith, for their care and support over the years. Special thanks to the wonderful staff of St. Boniface Hospital, 5th Floor, for their compassionate care during such a difficult time. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 200 - 310 Broadway, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3C 0S6. Francis, am so sorry to hear this!! I remember you and Wesley with great fondness. You were so gracious to us when we camped at Birds hill park. You were so faithful in visiting your brother Walter.
