DONALD HUGH COOPER August 4, 1929 - July 10, 2015 Peacefully passed away with his family at his side. Don was predeceased by his parents David and Mary Cooper; his wife Fay and his sister Jean and brother Albert. He is survived by his sisters Charlotte (Keith), Gloria (Paul), Linda and Pearl; and his daughters, Susan (Kerry predeceased), Donna (Ken predeceased), Cheryl (Bill) and Judy (Paul); grandchildren Robert (Pamela); great-grandchildren Ryan and Lee-Ann and grandchildren Melanie, Stephanie, Jeffrey, Jason and Corey and many nieces and nephews. Don lived his early years in Crilly, Ontario moving to Atikokan, Ontario as a young man. This is where he met the love of his life Fay. Don's job at CN took him to Winnipeg where he and Fay settled raising their four girls. Don's interests included baseball, bowling with his grandson Robert and Susan and playing pool with Paul. He also enjoyed his time playing cribbage with Donna. Don spent the last 10 years at his home while Cheryl and Bill took care of him. A special thank you to the Park Manor Personal Care Home and their staff for their compassionate care of the last two years while in their care. Also to the Concordia Hospital staff for the final days of caring. A private gathering was held at Transcona Cemetery on Friday, July 17, 2015. Arrangements were provided by Wheeler Funeral Chapel.
