MICHAEL TERENCE HUSBAND March 9, 1969 - July 10, 2015 Michael passed away suddenly and quietly at his home while doing what he loved, watching a movie on YouTube. Michael is sadly missed and fondly remembered by his parents; Peter and Rosalind, his sister; Sue (Don Taylor), his nephew; André (Kathryn Nikkel), his niece; Ravon (Paul Newton), his aunties; Edna Kent (Bob) and Doris Grauman (Alfred), several cousins and his best buddy from childhood, Michael Witty. Michael was predeceased by his best friend and life partner; Jean Christina Coté, his brother; Peter-John, his cousins; Greg Grauman and Lana Bourque, grandparents; Peter and Hilda Husband and Albert and Elsie Chambers. Born in Winnipeg and raised in Fort Garry he attended Oakenwald School, Viscount Alexander, General Byng and Vincent Massey, graduating from Grade XII in 1988. Michael faced many challenges in life from learning disabilities to serious complications from diabetes but managed to cope as best he could. He would always say "Things could be worse." He seldom complained and was always very appreciative of the efforts of all those who tried to help him: the doctors and staff at HSC, in particular Drs. Embil, Dascal and Pilkey, the doctors and staff in the cardiac unit at St. Boniface Hospital, his endocrinologist, Dr. J. Silha, the eye doctor who saved his sight, Dr. F. Stokl and Tom and Warren at HSC Engineering Rehab who endeavoured to keep him mobile for as long as possible. Michael and his family were very grateful to all the home care and community I.V. nurses who took excellent care of him through the years. Family and friends are invited to a "come and go" Memorial Reception from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 21 at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Health Sciences Centre Foundation Inc., MS1-820 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, R3A 1R9. THOMSON "IN THE PARK" 204-925-1120

Michael lived his school days with courage and dignity. I remember a time in when our class was vying for the divisional title of the highest percentage of participation in the annual Cross-Country races at Crescent Park. Although student interest in racing was high, the class determined that participation by all was more important. In the end, it was Michael who committed to elevate our participation to 100%. Michael was our champion that day and on the following day, the physical education supervision for the division arrived at our classroom door to present a trophy to Michael on behalf of our class! Winning took on a whole new meaning when it could be shared by all of us. Thanks Mike! - Posted by: Karen Yamada (Michael's Grade 4 teacher at Oakenwald School) on: Jul 19, 2015

Our deepest sympathies to Peter and Rosalind. We are so sorry for your loss. I only knew Michael when he was young and living next door. He was always cheerful and energetic. Sean & Holly Cox - Posted by: Sean Cox (Old neighbour) on: Jul 18, 2015
