NANCY CATHERINE CAIRD (nee CAMPBELL) Peacefully at home on July 18, 2015, with her friend Doreen and her caregiver Cora at her side. Nancy was born in Halifax on April 28, 1949 and did much travelling as a military child from Germany, Holland and across Canada. She was predeceased by her beloved son Ché at a young age and her parents Jim and Eleana. She will be sadly missed by her granddaughter Jessica; great-granddaughter Eva; dear brother Robert (Fran); special friend Doreen Szor who cared for her for several years and her family, especially Ilona (David) who was like a daughter to her; and also dear friends Selena Gomes, Mary Hook, Robert Campbell (Elaine) and her cat Katie at "Darcy's". All who knew Nancy knew of her love for animals. Nancy graduated from Winnipeg Education Centre and went to work at Child and Family Services until her retirement. If you were a friend of Nancy's you knew how stubborn she could be and it was "I'll do it my way" and no talking her out of it once her mind was set. Thanks to Dr. Mark Boroditsky, Kwanyee and to all the staff and friends at the River Ridge, especially Betty, Jackie, Lesly, her table companion, healthcare aids Cora, Ashley, Gerri, Lynn, Jerilyn and all of her home care staff, too many to mention. As per her wishes there will be no formal funeral service and a private celebration of her life for family and friends will take place at a later date.
