LAWRENCE VICTOR PEILUCK October 6, 1938 - July 27, 2015 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Vic Peiluck at the age of 76 years. After a brief and courageously fought battle with cancer, Vic passed away with loved ones by his side. Left to cherish his memory, is his wife of 38 years, Georgina (nee Thorkelson); children Kim, Kurt, Brandy, Natasha and Honey; grandsons, Dorien and Kingston. He will also be deeply missed by his siblings, Jean (Art), Ron, Charles and David; his nephew Craig and niece Karen. Vic was predeceased by his parents, Lena and Nicholas; brother Edward (Marian) and sister-in-law Effie. Vic was born in Gimli, MB., as the oldest of six children, he learned the value of hard work and dedication at a very young age. In Winnipeg, he spent 27 years at Air Canada, most of his days consisted of travelling to Gimli where he enjoyed farming, hunting, fishing and tending to the family gardens. He appreciated the simple things in life, he loved to play the accordion, dance to good polka music and watch old western movies. He always made time to take family vacations throughout the years and was especially fond of Disney destinations, Texas and Las Vegas. After retirement Vic began a new chapter in his life by welcoming foster children into his home. It is well known that his "three little girls" brought further meaning and happiness to his life. Vic developed a true passion for cooking in his later years, one which led him to completely take control of the kitchen. A celebration of Vic's life will be held at the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, 309 Eveline St. in Selkirk on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with a reception to follow. The family would like to extend their deepest thanks to the nursing staff at Seven Oaks Hospital, 5th Floor, Unit 7 for their compassion and care.
