Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKAY (KATYRZYNA) KOSTUIK Peacefully, with family by her side, Kay Kostuik passed away at the age of 91 on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at Seven Oaks General Hospital. Kay was born on July 17, 1924 on the family farm in the Pulp River District to Joseph and Sabina Sobischanski (nee Toporowski). The only daughter along with 10 brothers! On November 14, 1948 at Pulp River, Kay married Harry Kostuik. They moved to Toronto where they worked in a family restaurant. In 1951, Kay and Harry moved back to Winnipeg where they settled and raised their family. Kay, along with her husband were members of Christ the King Ukrainian Catholic Church for 50 years. Mom served 42 years as treasurer for UCWLC. She loved her church and when the church closed she took her love for her religion to the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish. Her perogies were the first off of everyone's plate and she was still having the big family Christmas Eve dinners well into her 80s. She took great pride in her flowers causing many neighbours to stop and admire them. Surviving is her loving family, children Arnold (Shirley), Saskatoon, Marilyn (Noel), Adelaide, South Australia, and David (Sue), West St. Paul. She is also survived by her brothers, Louis of Winnipeg, John, Adam and Carl of Toronto, along with five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the wonderful doctors, nurses and staff on the 5th floor Unit 1 at Seven Oaks Hospital, along with her longtime cardiologist Dr. Robert Kroeker. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Parish, 965 Boyd Ave. with Rev. Volodymyr Bashutskyy officiating. Private family interment will take place. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the charity of your choice. We love you Mom, Baba and will miss you dearly. Rose & Harry were always one of our stops on our daily walks. It was a true pleasure to admire their meticulous home and yard. The flowers always made you reflect on their beauty and the care that was bestowed upon them. We listened to their life's story and could feel their love for each other and their life they had built together. Family was their joy and were glad to share their pride in their family.
