DEANNA EDITH DOHIE (nee WRIGHT) With deep sorrow the family announces the passing of Deanna Edith Dohie on Wednesday, July 30, 2015 at the Health Sciences Centre, at the age of 68. Deanna was born in Springfield, Manitoba, December 29, 1946. She married Neil Dohie on October 30, 1965 and together they established their main home and life in the St. Vital area, on Avalon Road. Always keeping busy, Deanna gave several years of service to Scotiabank, CIBC and MPIC where she created lasting friendships with many of her co-workers. Deanna loved getting to know others, and had a gift of making everyone feel welcome. As well, she was always with a beloved pet and the best pet "grandparent" one could ask for. As Deanna was raised with a farming heritage, her love of the land shone through in her time spent vegetable gardening. One of her favourite things was entertaining family and friends, in which she could showcase her talent for cooking, baking and enjoy the sharing of stories. She could make any topic interesting, and had a great sense of humour that also helped her face some of life's more difficult challenges. She was predeceased by her father and mother, Douglas and Edith Wright, and her brother Douglas Jr. Wright. Deanna leaves to mourn and cherish her memory, her husband Neil; daughter, Karen (Doug) Fisher, and son Trevor (Sheilagh) Dohie; sisters Heather (Herb) Magura and Irene (Jim) Carpenter, sister-in-law Roszena Wright, as well as a very large extended family who adored her, both the Wright family and the Dohie family. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at the Wheeler Funeral Home 1800 Day Street, with Rev. Fr. Mirone R. Klysh officiating. Interment to follow at Transcona Cemetery, 5014 Dugald Rd. Reception to follow the interment at Wheeler Funeral Home, 1800 Day St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Deanna's memory to The Kidney Foundation / Manitoba Branch. The family would like to thank the Golden Door Personal Care Home for their care and compassion to Deanna over the past few years. An angel lived among us, a gift from God above. She showered us with kindness and shared with us her love. A lovely picture of Deanna. This is how I remembered Deanna when we were together as a family, at Christmas, at birthdays when our family visited Deanna's family farm. I loved her sense of humor and her warm smile and quick wit. We will miss you Deanna. - Posted by: Cathy Sherbo (Cousin) on: Aug 04, 2015
