MARY BOROWSKI Mary passed away with peace and dignity on August 16, 2015 surrounded by loved ones. She was predeceased by her husband Michael (2009), son Richard (1971), and son Terrance (2000). Mary leaves to mourn her passing her sister Justina, and brother Alec (Diane), three sisters-in-law, Shirley, Sophie and Dorothy, along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Mary was born January 16, 1923 in Springfield, MB. She was the second eldest daughter of a family of 10 children. She continued to live there until a few short months ago. She attended North Springfield School No 38, a two room school from Grades 1 to 9. Her first paying job was a domestic live-in, in Winnipeg, for $10 a month which included room and board. During the war years she worked in an airplane factory in Fort William, building "dive bombers". After VE day she went to a shell filling plant in Ajax until VJ day. Back home at wars' end, she was employed by Canada Packers, then Ray-O-Vac Batteries until 1949 when she married Michael. Home and family were the cornerstone of Mary's life. She was a nature enthusiast who radiated a lifelong affinity for all God's creatures. Friends and family were always welcomed into her home for a warm beverage and enjoyable conversation. Mary was respected for her kind and gentle spirit. Mary received Christ as her Saviour in 1952. She was baptized and joined the Tabor Baptist Church in Transcona. She later joined The Church at Pine Ridge. The family extends extreme gratitude to the kind and caring staff at Pine Falls Hospital, where Mary spent her last few months. An absolute gem of a woman who went through so much but never changed. Close friends of our late mom and dad, always tried to visit her and did so right up till two years ago. Regards from the Laird "kids", Joan, Amy and Victor. - Posted by: Victor Laird (long time neighbours) on: Aug 19, 2015

I remember like yesterday - walking out to your garden and feeding the neighbour's horse... my dad driving us to your house on Christmas Eve and listening to where Santa had been spotted... my dad driving us to your house on Halloween for witches brew... and many more... but nothing will top your cabbage buns... never... miss you every day. Love always - Posted by: Dianne (Niece) on: Aug 19, 2015

Aunty Mary, Well Aunty Mary you are now in heaven looking down. I seen your beautiful self about a month ago and i knew that was going to be the last time that i would see you. You asked me if there was a garden outside your room in Pine Falls and I said no but i would go make you one and you laughed. I could go on and on with this little write up but always know how much you mean to me and know that I will forever cherish everything we have ever done together. I love you Aunty Mary Until we meet again. Christina - Posted by: Christina (Great Neice) on: Aug 19, 2015

My Dear Aunty Mary As I traveled to Pine Falls the morning of Saturday August 15 to visit with you and bring you flowers, as sense of calm and peacefulness came over me. I knew this was probably the last time I would see and talk to you. As I walked into your room, came over to say hello and you whispered " Hi Kid" small tears flowing down your cheek. I said Don't cry Aunty Mary just rest and I will be here. Our visit was quiet and peaceful not more than a couple words were spoken, as I sat and held your hand while you slept. Oh so peaceful. You will forever be with me and please watch over me as I continue with my journey in life. I love you Marilyn - Posted by: Marilyn (Niece) on: Aug 19, 2015
