Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryOREST BOITSON Orest passed away peacefully on August 27, 2015, at the age of 82 years, with family by his side at the Gimli Community Health Centre. He was predeceased by his parents, Nicholas and Michalina; brothers, John, Steve, Bill, Mike, Joe, Frank and Jim; and sisters Anne, Pauline and Olga. Left to mourn is his wife Anne; stepsons Mike and Ron, and sisters, Nellie and Helen (Jack). Orest was born in Pleasant Home, Manitoba on August 7, 1933. He attended school in Plum Ridge and worked on the family farm. In 1971, he moved to Winnipeg working at Middlechurch Home, retiring in 1995. He loved to garden, putting up Christmas decorations, winning prizes for his lights display, going to the casino and playing bingo. Orest got dementia three years ago, moving to the nursing home in 2014, and residing there until his passing. Prayers will be held on Tuesday, September 1 at 7:00 p.m. with a viewing to be held one hour prior to. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 2 at 10:30 a.m. in the St. Stephen's Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Pleasant Home, Manitoba with Fr. Richard Ehrmantraut officiating.
