SYLVIE HUOT (nee COWLEY) July 16, 1956 - August 27, 2015 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Sylvie Huot, beloved wife of Marcel and mother to Jocelyne and Adam (Amanda). Also grieving her loss are the lights of her life; her grandchildren Julia, Andrew, Noah and Jacen. Sylvie was predeceased by her parents Hugh and Beatrice Cowley. Also left to mourn her loss is her brother Scott (Christine). Sylvie was diagnosed with Lupus, a debilitating and chronic condition that slowly affected many parts of her life. One of her greatest losses was her ability to continue to work at Norwood Dental Centre. Her work with the clients and staff there was one of the key pieces and source of joy that kept her going. Sylvie's health was further challenged recently by cancer. Throughout each step however she accepted each predicament with such a calm and graceful approach so that her energies could be focused on what truly mattered to her. The family would like to thank all of the staff at CancerCare who was there for her in this more recent part of her journey. Also, many thanks to the kind and compassionate care that was provided by Dr. Glen T. D. Thomson and staff through the years in helping manage her Lupus, as well as the staff at the Palliative Care Unit at St. Boniface Hospital. Dr. Tim Hebert, resident Jennifer and nurse Stacy; you were the angels that were there to aide her passing with peace and dignity which is what she wanted. In keeping with Sylvie's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Friday, September 4, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald Street. If friends so desire, donations in memory of Sylvie may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, Lupus Society of Manitoba Inc. or to St. Boniface Hospital Foundation - Palliative Care.
