DEREK HORN Sadly, we announce the passing of Derek Horn who passed away at his residence after a courageous battle with cancer, on Monday, August 31, 2015 at the age of 49 years. He is survived by his parents, William and Donna Horn; brother Greg Horn; sister Deidre (Horn) Alexander; brother-in-law Edward Alexander; and nieces, Sydney Alexander and Mackenzie Alexander. He was also survived by his Uncle Craig and Aunty Gail Cudmore and their two children, Shaina and Calen. Derek was predeceased by his grandparents and sister Diane Horn. He had a passion and love for animals especially his beloved dog Bella. He was born in Swan Lake Memorial Hospital on September 21, 1965, graduated from Bruxelles Collegiate in 1983 and continued on to work in the trucking industry for several years before settling into a career with Canadian Waste Management. He loved to tinker with anything mechanical especially automobiles, and could be found in his spare time refinishing anything vintage he could find. Celebration of life will be held in the Charleswood United Church, 4820 Roblin Blvd., Winnipeg, MB on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Allison Halstead officiating. Interment will take place at a later date in the Kingsley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
