MARIE MURANETZ (nee MCCASIN) June 5, 1939 - September 1, 2015 Peacefully on September 1, 2015, Marie passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital, at the age of 76 years, after a lengthy battle with cancer. Marie was predeceased by her parents, her husband Marty, brothers Walter, Tony, Ron, Elvis, and Joseph at infancy, and nephews Jamie and Vernon. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter Mardene, son-in-law Shane, brothers Stan (Erica), and Frank (Debbie), sisters-in-law Marie (Stan) Hrabarchuk, and Sheila, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Marie was born in Grandview, Manitoba along with her seven brothers and spent her working career at Manitoba Health. Marie always had a smile for you. She was an extremely hard worker with many passions. She loved to watch golf and was a long time member at the Selkirk Golf and Country Club. She enjoyed cooking and baking for others, gardening and most of all her weekends at the lake with family and friends. Marie was a great friend to many and lived life to the fullest. She always enjoyed a good chuckle and much appreciated the thoughtfulness of family and close friends. Words cannot express the love she felt to those who were ever-present making sure she was well cared for and happy. We would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the St. Boniface Hospital - Palliative Care Unit for their care and compassion. Respecting Marie's wishes cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2015, 11:00 a.m., Wheeler Funeral Home, 1800 Day Street. Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • I'm so sad to hear about Marie's passing, I worked with her in complex claims for many years at Manitoba Health. She had a great sense of humour and I remember everyday she would keep us updated on all the current news items as well as being our 649 group coordinator for many years. She was a good lady and may she rest in peace. Sharon Pospishell - Posted by: Sharon Pospishell (Co worker) on: Sep 05, 2015
