Condolences & Memories (10 entries)

  • I think of you often Uncle Doug and miss the fun times we had, including the rather LARGE REPTILES wandering freely in your home. LOL. You were a Great Uncle who shared your world famous Oven Roasted Turkey and gravy recipe with me asking me not to share with any of the others. We both knew you told us all though. You were there for me in many times of need and to that I will always be grateful. Thanks for being a Great Uncle, and a good friend. Keep the gravy warm until we meet again. Doesn't feel like 7 years. Love Shelly. - Posted by: Shelly Allison (Neice) on: Sep 17, 2022

  • Doug. I am so sorry. I never had the chance to say goodbye. You were as good as it gets. You were a genuine human being. I grew up and went to school my whole life with your daughters only to meet you years later as a neighbor and recognize your daughters pictures on your wall you cherished them like you cherished everyone you met. I know of them but I wish they saw what I got to see in in you. You were the kindest soul I have ever met. I have yet to met anyone in comparison. It's so incredibly sad to know you are now gone. May you rest in peace friend the world was a better place with you in it. - Posted by: Mandie (Driend) on: Oct 04, 2015

  • We had so many wonderful memories, in that big house, beautiful in the summer and incredible in the winter. The fire stove smell in the air, the kids laughing, the adults enjoying each other's company. We always were welcome and the many feasts we shared were amazing. His kind heart and adorable humor kept us laughing all night long. I will never forget, and you will be missed. - Posted by: Wanda Prefontaine (Niece) on: Sep 23, 2015
