TIMOTHY DENNIS VANDALE
Born: Dec 02, 1967
Date of Passing: Sep 25, 2015
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTIMOTHY DENNIS VANDALE December 2, 1967 - September 25, 2015 It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Tim Vandale on Friday, September 25, 2015 at the young age of 47 years. Left to cherish his loving memory are his wife Joanne (née McCarthy) and their children Danick and Sophie, his father Bob Vandale and brother Mike Vandale. He will be lovingly remembered by Joanne's family, Gilbert (Ginette) McCarthy, Claire (Jean) Dorge, Estelle (Allan) Dandeneau, Monique (Guy) Lambert, Nicole (Darryl) Nagam, Raymonde Shaw and Tony Balaz. Tim also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who were all so important and very much part of his life: Emma and Tanner (and their mother Sharlene), Christel, Brigitte, Joel, Stephanie, Chantal, Justin, Jérémie, Matthieu, Sylvie, and Isabelle (and her father Doug Shaw). He was predeceased by his mother Donna Vandale, his father and mother-in-law Frank and Lucille McCarthy. Tim was born and raised in Winnipeg. He married his high school sweetheart, Joanne, in 1993 and raised two incredibly dynamic children, Danick and Sophie. His unyielding love and dedication for his family created a remarkable bond, inspirational to many. Tim spent the last 18 years of his career working at Morguard as an Operational Manager where he was highly respected by his colleagues and clients. He was committed to his work and always spoke of his colleagues as family. Tim was a great athlete, and loved all sports, particularly enjoyed running, golfing and playing hockey. He held a special place in his heart for coaching and gave a great deal of his time toward that; six years dedicated to soccer and over 20 years to hockey. Tim was highly respected by both kids and parents and had a positive impact in the hockey community. His passion and natural gift to coach kids of all ages and all levels was cherished by all. It was most important for Tim that kids enjoyed playing the sport. It was all about having fun, doing your best and never giving up. He also volunteered for the Manitoba hockey association and recently for the Manitoba cycling association. Tim was the greatest dad and friend anyone could ask for. No matter how busy he was, there was always time for his family, friends and community. When Tim was not working, coaching, or volunteering for the community, he spent time on family holidays, listening to some of his favorite R and B tunes or simply chilling on the infamous "flotilla" at their St. Malo trailer where they spent many summers sitting around the fire laughing and sharing stories. Tim touched so many lives in so many ways and he did so with a smile, positive attitude, passion, energy, integrity and commitment. Tim had the ability to light up a room with his infectious 1000 kilowatt smile which will never be forgotten! Tim was a truly wonderful genuine man taken away from loved ones far too soon; his loss will be missed by many for years to come. However, we are comforted in knowing that his legacy of selflessness lives on with his organ recipients. There will be a very special place in heaven for our beloved Tim. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the physicians, nurses and staff of MICU at HSC for the compassion and dignified care they provided to Tim. We can't thank you enough for all the support you provided to our family during this extremely difficult time. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a Celebration of Tim's Life which will be held on Tuesday, October 6 at 2:00 p.m. at Canad Inns Polo Park, 1405 St. Matthews Avenue. Reception to follow. We are so grateful to Tim's friends who have kindly set up a fund through RBC, to help Danick and Sophie reach for gold in their athletic careers. Supporting his children's athletic dreams was Tim's passion. Donations can be made to the fund appropriately named Timsheartbeatson at any RBC location until October 28, 2015. When we ask how could death come to a young man we have to remember that these special people enter our lives for a short time to teach us love and patience-this is how we honour them-I only saw Tim and his lovely family at my son's home on Christmas eve and always admired how he could light up a room and make everyone feel comfortable-he and his family were best friends of my son, Kevin, Kim and especially son, Nick who loved him like a second father-my thoughts are with Jo-anne and her wonderful son and daughter and hope they have the strength to carry on without their special husband and father - Posted by: Betty Stire (friend) on: Oct 22, 2015

My sincerest condolences to Tim's family during this most difficult time. I had the pleasure of coaching Tim with the St. Boniface Saints many years ago. Tim was a fine young man back then and he retained his outstanding qualities as he grew older. He always had a positive outlook on life and whenever we bumped into each other at a rink he would always bring me up to date on his family. He was very proud of his children and their accomplishments. I never bumped into him when he wasn't displaying his huge, infectious smile. A good man taken way too early. I am so sorry for your loss. - Posted by: Daryl Anning ((St. Boniface Saints Coach & Friend)) on: Oct 05, 2015

Tim came in to our lives when Alexandria was 7 as her first hockey coach. There is not much left to add to all these wonderful condolences, tributes and memories. Everyone summed up Tim perfectly. I will surely miss playing golf with my golf partner, especially when he's on your team when playing amigos. He always took enough money off of us to pay for his golf. What amazing patience & tolerance putting up with my slices and hooks when playing the Alternate Shot tourney at St. B. He always managed to keep us in the running. Monique and I were so fortunate to share our recent winter-getaways with Tim & Joanne and needless to say how much fun that was spending that quality time with them. Man!!! On Friday September 25, my family and I lost one of our dear best friends and one of the greatest persons that we have ever had the privilege to know. He was one of the kindest ,patient men we have ever met. Kids loved him, adults were drawn to him, there wasn't a soul that didn't love him. We met Tim and Joanne one day at a soccer wind-up at our community club and from there we had an instant connection. We spent so many fun times together.........family vacations, grown-up vacations , dinners , long conversations about life, sad times and just intimate friend times. We will miss you so much and feel so honoured to have known you and called you a friend. You have left such a whole in our hearts. Thinking of you and your family who are going through so much. So sad and sudden. Tim will be sorely missed. Tim had spent many days as a little tyke watching me and my other friends play street hockey in Windsor Park. I was reunited with Tim years ago just prior to a suiting up to play a hockey game together. The moment we stepped on the ice and played defence together, we had one of those kinds of connections where we almost knew exactly what each of us were going to do before we did it. From those enjoyable moments of playing together onwards, we always tried to get together to play again, as Tim's focus became more on coaching and his family....A fiesty competitor on the ice, and a great person through and through. My condolences to Tim's family and friends. - Posted by: Peter Proskurnik (Friend) on: Oct 01, 2015

Like a lot of people, my wife and I met Tim through hockey. He was a wonderful coach who encouraged and supported all his players no matter what their level of ability was. The boys and girls who were lucky enough to have had Tim for a coach will never forget him and neither will their parents. Tim had a way of making everyone feel at ease. His big grin and positive attitude were infectious. I can honestly say I never saw Tim in a bad mood. He was always up. The last time I saw him, he told me about Danick and Sophie's latest accomplishments. He was so proud of his family. What a terrible loss. Our hearts go out to Joanne, Sophie and Danick. - Posted by: Cam, Marnie and Danny McCullough (friends) on: Sep 30, 2015

Tim was a great husband and father, always ran into him at the rink but Danick was a year older than my son Donovan. We first met at the St. B golf course and played together in the Lefties/Righties matches at the club. We always talked about the boys and their hockey, and they actually took golf lessons together one summer. My condolences to Joanne and her family....Tim will be sadly missed! - Posted by: Derek Ross (Fellow Hockey Dad and member at St. B Golf Course) on: Sep 30, 2015
