RAYMOND BALE Raymond Bale passed away peacefully at the St. Boniface Hospital, on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at the age of 90 years. Raymond was born in Fisher Branch, MB, on April 22, 1925 and lived on the family farm until moving to the city of Winnipeg in 1955 to work as a meat cutter at Eaton's. In 1956 he started a 14 year career as a bookkeeper at Swift Meats. It was during this time that he met his beloved wife Elsie and began their 55 years of marriage. In 1966 Raymond and Elsie found their 'forever home' in Norwood where they raised three beautiful children and spent the next 49 years together. In 1970, Raymond pursued his education and obtained a degree in Agriculture from the University of Manitoba in 1973. He worked for the Federal Government Department of Agriculture as an inspector for 17 years, retiring in 1990. During these years, he attended St. Boniface College to refine his French language skills. Over the years, Raymond has made many generous donations to the St. Boniface Hospital Foundation. Raymond leaves his beloved wife Elsie; daughters, Sharon (Peter), Corinne (Daniel) and son Brian (Geneviève); sisters, Alice, Bernice and brother Emanuel; grandchildren, Emily, Courtney, Meaghan, Riley, Nicholas, Nathan, Dominique, Philippe, Marie-Francis and Daniel. Raymond was predeceased by his parents Emanuel and Ludivine, and brother Ernest. The family would like to thank the Home Care staff and Stephanie Turner, the Cathedral Manor and the staff at St. Boniface Hospital for all their care and compassion. In keeping with Raymond's wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of Raymond's life will take place on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald Street, with a reception to follow. Interment will take place at the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Cemetery in Fisher Branch, MB following the reception. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in Raymond's memory may be made to the St.Boniface Hospital Foundation. The Coutu Family in care of arrangements: E.J. COUTU & CO.
