LEONA SIWIK (nee WEISGERBER) July 9, 1927 - September 29, 2015 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Leona Siwik, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at the Health Sciences Centre. Leona was predeceased by her husband Stanley, and daughter-in-law Lori. Mom will be lovingly remembered by her sons Richard and Wayne, granddaughters Angie (Chris), and Tracey (Chris), great-granddaughter Kinley, and great-grandson Mekhi; daughter Karen (Brent), granddaughter Amanda, grandson Jeffrey, sister Pauline Harcourt, as well as many nieces and nephews. Mom was born on July 9, 1927 in Romance, Saskatchewan, and coming from a family of eleven, she understood the importance of family and the pleasure family brings. In keeping with Mom's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Monday, October 5, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald Street. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in memory of Leona may be made to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation. The Coutu family in care of arrangements: E.J. COUTU & CO. Will truly miss our conversations went to phone her today and then had a feeling of her passing. So sorry Wayne Rick and Karen your mom nutured me as a young girl when I moved to Wpg and worked at the Winter Club. She was like a great aunt, always there it was an honour to have known her. I am sorry I wasn't able to attend the service to celebrate aunties life. I always remember her as the "kissing aunt". The first thing she would do when she first saw you was grab u and give you a big hug and a kiss on the cheek!
