ANTOINETTE MARIE MAINELLA March 6, 1931 - October 5, 2015 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mom Antoinette on October 5, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. Predeceased by Dad four years ago, she leaves to mourn her children and grandchildren: Anna-Marie and Alex Scott, Michele Poulsen (Matthew and Meagan), Joanne and David Provinciano (Christopher and Carmen), Lucille and Lyle Davies (Jared and Marissa), Kathy and Clark Johannson (Carly, Lucas, Alana and William), Theresa and Mitch Grant. She will also be greatly missed by her sisters Elizabeth Smale and Mary Jannetta, brother and sister-in-law Henry and Jo Dellapenta, and many nieces, nephews and friends. Mom was born March 6, 1931 to parents Josie and Nick Dellapenta. She grew up in the West End, attended Daniel McIntyre and later joined the Toronto Dominion bank as a teller. After marrying John in 1957, Mom and Dad started a family and together they raised six daughters who brought them an abundance of love and endless joy. Their family grew with 10 grandchildren, each of whom they were extremely proud. Nana has a special place in the hearts of her grandchildren. Mom was hugely devoted to her family, and Sunday family dinners were a highlight of the week. In Mom's kitchen, there was never a shortage of anything, and anyone who visited was always welcome to share our meal and enjoy a few laughs. Mom and Dad had a wonderful life together, enjoying family, friends and the opportunity to travel. Mom was a devout Catholic, a lifelong member of Holy Rosary Church, a member of the Catholic Women's League and for many years a volunteer with the Villa Cabrini Seniors Residence and Eaton's Retirement Club. A memorial mass will be celebrated by Fr. Sam Argenziano on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Ave. Reception to follow in the church hall. Private interment to follow at a later date. Our family would like to express our deepest thanks to staff at both Grace CancerCare and 3E Riverview Health Centre. You truly are special people. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba or Riverview Health Centre Foundation. Grief never ends ... but it changes. It's a passage, not a place to stay. Grief is not a sign of weakness, Nor a lack of faith ... It is the price of love. Sending my heartfelt condolence in the loss of your sister and sister-in-law. It was really nice to see both of you at riverview. Although our moment visits were usually challenging and emotional. Thank you for always making me feel special but mostly valued without being judged. Josie and Henry, you are both amazing people with the gift of understanding, compassion and a genuine sense of our roots. You will always have a special place in my heart. Know that you are in my prayers and find comfort in your memories. They say that memories are what truly sustain us. Thank you for creating some with me and I will treasure them forever.
