ANNE KOMADOWSKI (nee ZNAK) March 28, 1935 - October 8, 2015 Peacefully, with her family by her side, our Mom, Grannie, and best friend passed away on October 8, 2015 at the age of 80. She was born in East Selkirk, where she resided for most of her life. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Cece (Louis) Durupt and Vicki Tyers; her grandchildren, Ashlee Durupt, Chase (Candice), Chad and Chris Baczewich, Casi Simcoe and Pam (Andy) Petersen; many great-grandchildren; her companion Clive Rennie; sister Jeanette (Ed) Gowen, and many other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Casey Komadowski, daughter Phyllis Baczewich, parents Jessie and Nicholas Znak, and her sister Mary Marchinko. Mom worked at various places in Selkirk, including IGA, Lower Fort Garry, the Army and Navy and Lord Selkirk Hotel. She enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, crocheting, the outdoors and spending time with family and friends. Mom and Dad moved to Lac Du Bonnet in 1992, where they spent many memorable years together. She moved back to Selkirk in 2004. Her grandchildren meant the world to her; whether it was trips to the casino, taking them to local parades and events, chatting on the phone, teaching them how to cook and bake, or celebrating special occasions; it was her passion. Mom's unconditional love and concern for her family will live on in all of us left behind. An evening Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel in Selkirk with Fr. Jerry Talarski officiating. A private family interment will take place in the Tyndall cemetery at a later date. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Zoppa, Eleanor and the nursing staff at Selkirk and District General Hospital, and the staff at the renal clinic. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada. "Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us every day...unseen, unheard, but always near; still loved, still missed and very dear." Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, in care of arrangements. www.gilbartfuneralhome.com
