DEGRAVES It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Wilfred DeGraves on Friday, October 23, 2015 at the Grace Hospital, at the age of 87 years. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 30, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. in St. John Brebeuf Church, 1707 John Brebeuf Place, with viewing one half hour prior. Our condolences to the family. Justice DeGraves was a great jurist who showed compassion for those who appeared before him. He also had a wry sense of humour that was appreciated during difficult court sittings. When he sat in Northern Manitoba he always took the opportunity to meet the local lawyers and to spend an hour or two fishing. Justice DeGraves took an interest in the welfare of First Nations people. He was fair to all those who appeared in his court. A great jurist and fine human being.
