GORDON LLOYD GOODMAN Peacefully with family at his side Gordon Lloyd Goodman passed away at the Gimli Betel Home on the afternoon of October 27, 2015. He leaves to mourn his loving wife, Gloria of 35 years; six stepchildren, Patricia (Ron) Willock, Brian (Cheryl) Shewchuk, Joseph (Charlene) Shewchuk, Cheryl (Blair) Knutson, Richard Shewchuk and Norman Shewchuk; 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Also left to mourn are sisters May Kelly and Rosa Johnston (Dave); sister in-law Vivian; brothers Allan (Evelyn), Eric (Linda), Edward (Jackie) and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by mom and dad (Rosa and Kolbeinn); sister Bernice (Stefan) Helgason; brothers Arthur, Mundi (Edith), George, Frank and brother-in-law Mike Kelly. Gordon was born on April 2, 1931 in Winnipeg. After attending Dnister and Gimli school, Gordon entered the work force in the Kenora area. First for Devlin Brothers; later Byers Construction at the Gimli Seagrams Plant as a labourer; Sigfusson Construction operating a Cat, and painting at Gimli Airforce Base for Stanley Gretchen. His fishing career started at the early age of 16 and continued for 59 years. In that time Gordon also fished with his Uncle Larus for six years and the Albertson's from Arnes for 30 winters. He often mentioned fishing was his first love. Gordon was a wonderful loving husband, step-father, afi, lang afi, brother and uncle. He was very proud of the beautiful home, yard and garden that Gloria and he built. He really enjoyed watching the wildlife which included deer, Sharp tail grouse, pileated woodpeckers, crows and any stray animal that happened to visit. He enjoyed his long walks with his four legged friend "Lady" The family would like to thank the staff of the Betel Home Foundation for their wonderful and compassionate care given to Gordon. The Celebration of Gordon's life will be held at the Gimli Park Pavilion at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 2, 2015. GORDON LLOYD GOODMAN Peacefully, on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at the Betel Home in Gimli, Manitoba, Gordon Goodman, aged 84 years, of Gimli, beloved husband of Gloria passed away. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of his Life is pending on Monday, November 2 at 1:00 p.m. in the Gimli Pavillion. Full obituary to follow in Friday's paper.   • Gord loved to talk about fish. Every time we would have supper together that's all we would talk about, and I really enjoyed that time with Gordy. All ways laughing and smiling. The one thing I will always remember is the he would call me young fella. Something I would never forget. You will be greatly missed. Now you can enjoy life some were up there lifting nets in the nicest conditions. You were an genuine man that old fisherman.
