Simone was our aunt. Our mom, Irma, was her sister. When we were kids, our family took turns hosting Christmas and celebrating the Reveillon with Taunte Simone, Oncle Marcel and family. As kids, we were excited about celebrating Christmas late at night. We had to take a nap to stay awake for Midnight Mass. I remember many Christmases when we went back to Tante Simone and Oncle Marcel's house to see if Santa came and eat a big Christmas meal. Tante Simone had a lot of delicious food in the oven, while we opened gifts. We had so much fun. We looked forward to this all year. Tante Simone, thanks for the great childhood memories. You will always be in our hearts. - Posted by: Gisele Remillard, Alice Walker and Paul Remillard (Simone was our aunt) on: Nov 02, 2015

I had the pleasure to work with Simone at the SBGH as fellow chaplains. She became my mentor, friend and health advisor. I appreciated hearing her wealth of information, guidance and wisdom. Her love for her family, grandchildren and community inspired me. She will deeply be missed. - Posted by: Louise Saurette (friend and colleague) on: Nov 02, 2015

Simone Desautels & I took our nursing course @ St. Boniface Hospital many yrs. ago and her & her sister Irma sat right in front of myself & my girl friend Elaine- she was a very kind & gentle soul & we were all very young and had a lot of laughs together. How saddened I am from seeing her obits in the paper. We last ran into each other in Yuma, AZ. while snow birding around 11 yrs. ago. So sad; what a loss to this world as she was a kind & beautiful person. - Posted by: Stuart & Louise Wilson (nee Hamoline) (friends (Simone & I took our nursing course @ SBGHosp. many yrs. ago)) on: Nov 01, 2015
