LOYD AWONA-GESHIG CAMERON Peacefully at the Carberry Regional Hospital, on Monday, November 2, 2015, Loyd Cameron of Swan Lake First Nation passed away at the age of 68 years. He leaves to cherish his memory his partner Alma French; his children: Arryl Cameron, Valeen Cameron (Tim Gordon), and Meghann Kieffer; grandchildren: Brent Cameron, Marley McKinney and Lennon McKinney. He also leaves to mourn his brother Keith Cameron (Karen Letts), sister Leona (Tom) Myran, and uncle Don Cameron, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Loyd was predeceased by his parents Wallace and Mary-Jane Cameron, brothers Morris and Herb Cameron, sister Gladys Cameron, nieces Michelle and Lana Cameron, and cousins Ralph, Arthur and Cecil Cameron. Loyd had a love for horses and riding. He was a voracious reader of newspapers, books and aboriginal and political news. He was very active with Child and Family Services for many years. His grandchildren were his pride and joy along with his special dog Cash. He spent a lot of time gardening and liked to listen to blues and country music. He will be remembered by many for all his generous donations to local charities and organizations. Loyd you are gone, but far from forgotten. We will always remember our time together. A Traditional Wake will be held at the Swan Lake First Nation Hall on Friday, November 6, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at the Swan Lake First Nation Hall on Saturday, November 7, 2015 commencing with the feast at 12:00 noon. Interment to follow at the Indian Springs Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Boniface Hospital Foundation, 409 Tache Ave., Winnipeg, Manitoba, R2H 2A6.
