EDWARD ALLAN KLATT July 17, 1935 - November 5, 2015 Peacefully on Thursday, November 5, 2015 after a brief battle with cancer, Edward Allan Klatt passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Ward at the age of 80 years. Edward was predeceased by his dear wife Marie this past year, and as a child by his father August; mother Ethel; sister Ethel Anne and two brothers Jackie and Robert. Edward is survived and will be sadly missed by his children, Janice (Ron), Lloyd, Russell and Allan Klatt; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and his brother Alexander (Elizabeth) Klatt. Edward spent his early years in the Anola and Transcona areas. He worked 10 years at the Board of Grain Commissioners and later for 27 years with Canada Post as a mail handler retiring in 1989. Ed was most happy when with Marie at the farm with his tractors, cars and anything else with a motor in it. He had a knack for reviving motors that everyone else had given up on. Ed was a kind soul admired by friends and associates for his generosity. If you needed something and he had it, it was yours no questions asked. Our sincere thanks goes to family, friends, the nurses and staff at Health Sciences Centre, especially the caring doctors, nurses and staff at the Palliative ward at the St. Boniface Hospital during this difficult time. Respecting Ed's wishes cremation has taken place and a celebration of life gathering over refreshments will be held on Saturday November 14, 2015 at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 1800 Day Street, Transcona, Manitoba between 9:00 am and noon. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba or a charity of one's choice. I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your father. He and your mother held very special places in my heart and will continue to do so. The love you have for them and they had for you is special and we can all only hope our children care for us the way you did them. Ed was a great man and I am honored to have known him and your family. I was so grateful to spend some time with him and care for him a little during his final days with us. He is now with Marie and that is a wonderful thought. Together again. All the best to you and your family. See you Saturday. It was sad to hear the passing of your father, my heart and thoughts are with you all at this difficult time. He will be missed immensley. You don't ever lose the love or the experience, and you don't ever lose the imprint of being with them. In fact I believe when people go, it becomes bigger. It's like they burst, and the molecules of them go sprinkle around into all of us. Pauline Fondeur - Posted by: Pauline Fondeur (Friend ) on: Nov 10, 2015
