Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEILEEN CISZEWSKI Mom passed sweetly and peacefully during her afternoon nap today, November 8, 2015 at the Betel Home in Gimli. She was born in Silver, Manitoba on July 25, 1921. She is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Lott and MaryAnne McDonald (Don), five grandchildren, Dale Lott (Flo), Cory Lott, Terry Dahl (Cam), Jennifer Comack and Carla McDonald; as well as 11 great-grandchildren. Eileen was predeceased by Rudy in 2011 after 69 years of marriage. She was also predeceased by her parents by age 24 and outlived all of her siblings. Rudy and Eileen married on July 25, 1942 on the Ciszewski homestead in Arnes. She loved to see baby farm critters grow and thrive. As well as working long hours on the farm, she still was able to grow amazing vegetable gardens and share the produce with the community. Rudy and Eileen retired to Gimli in 1978 at which time mom got a job at the Falcon Restaurant. She enjoyed those years greatly. The smell of bread baking and chicken noodle soup simmering always greeted us. She loved having her family and friends surround the kitchen table which was laden with food. Mom prayed without ceasing. Her faith in her Heavenly Father was unshakeable. She taught us girls to say our bedtime and morning prayers. Mom and dad always reminded us to "never forget about God." Christmas and Easter were the biggest family events that she always insisted on cooking by herself. Her last big feast was at 86 years of age. Thank you mom for loving us so unconditionally. Rudy and Eileen are together, never to part again. Our most sincere thanks to Dr. R.C. Patel and staff at the Gimli Betel Home for the excellent care provided to both our parents. Prayers will be said on Thursday, November 12 at 7:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel in Gimli. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, November 13 at 10:30 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic Church in Gimli with Father Harry Chuckry officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in Eileen's memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Gilbart Funeral Home, Gimli in care of arrangements. www.gilbartfuneralhome.com
