ALEXANDRE RYAN BERNARDIN (DROP KICK) It is with very heavy hearts that we announce that our awesome special angel, Alex, passed away peacefully in his mother's arms, surrounded by family, at the Children's Hospital on Monday, November 9, 2015 at the age of three and half years. He is now flying free like a beautiful butterfly with the angels, free from pain and tubes. He will forever be remembered by his Mommy, Nathalie Bernard, Daddy Mike Bernardin, and his big brother Justin Bernardin. Also missing him are his grandparents: Aline and Denis Bernard and Harry and Angie Bernardin; great-grandparents: Lucienne Roch, Henriette Bernardin, Linda and George Ross; aunts, uncles and cousins: Marcel Roch and Gwen, Richard Bernard (Michelle), Mireille Bernard (Trent) and Trenton Jr., Marc Bernard (Chantal), Jaime Bernardin and Carrie, Paige and Camryn, Susie (Vince) Hiebert and Taylor, Lindsey, Brenden and Jessica, as well as numerous, great-aunts and uncles, relatives, DBA families, medical staff at CK5 and CancerCare, and many friends. Alex has joined in heaven his great-great-grandparents Albert and Rosalida Ross, great-grandparents Wilfred Bernardin, Albert Roch, Léon and Fernande (née Poquet) Bernard, and his special friends: Kellan, Lucian, Maddie and Candace. Alex loved the Avengers, Paw Patrol, blowing and popping bubbles, dancing and showing off his kung-fu moves and playing with his big brother. He played peek-a-boo with all the nurses and would shoot spider webs at everybody. Alex was such a fighter and always had a smile or smirk on his face, no matter what the day brought. He was a smart, small boy of very few words, but could communicate so well his wishes with his powerful finger, hands and powerful expressions. Alex never made it far from home but yet he touched so many lives across the world. Alex this is not good-bye, see ya soon buddy - back?! A Celebration of Life will be held in the St. Claude Catholic Church, St. Claude, Manitoba on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Michael Fehr officiating, followed by interment in the St. Claude Parish Cemetery. People are welcome to dress in superhero apparel for the celebration. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Diamond Blackfan Anemia Canada, 67 Young Court, Orangeville, ON L9W 0A8; CancerCare Foundation (Blood and Marrow Transplant, Pediatric), 675 McDermot Ave., Room 1160, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9; the Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Support Group c/o Naomi Fehr, RR1 Box 350, Winkler MB R6W 4A1, or to the Go Fund Me account https://de.gofund.me/nathaliebernard Adam's Funeral Home of Notre Dame de Lourdes, Manitoba in care of arrangements.
