BRIAN DOUGLAS ERHART After a lengthy illness, Brian Erhart passed away Friday, November 13, 2015 at Riverview Health Centre, at the age of 68 years. He is survived by his wife, of 47 years, Judy (formerly Rossnagel); two sons Trevor Erhart (Noreen) and Mitchell Erhart; grandchildren Gabriel, Parker and Calla; siblings Donna Levine (David), Wesley Erhart (Margo), Warren Erhart (Marie) and Janice Jones (Brian), brothers-in-law Ron (Sandy), Richard (Gladys) and David (Sherrill) Rossnagel, as well as aunts and cousins, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Phil and Hannah Erhart, sister Sandra Erhart, and recently mother-in-law Yvonne Allan. Brian started at the C.N.R. Transcona Shops in 1966 as a carman apprentice and retired in 2001 as a Senior Production Coordinator. He was always dedicated to his positions and believed in hard work and doing his best and beyond. He believed in treating everyone like he'd like to be treated. At home he kept busy on home improvements and was ready to help anyone whenever he could. He continually had a project and loved being outdoors. When the kids were growing up, family time at Spruce Lake was year round. Our family vacation usually took us to British Columbia to visit family. When he was able, golfing with his boys and a game of shinny hockey at Melrose Community Centre were his favourites. He loved his grandkids so much and always enjoyed their company. We enjoyed so many good times on our trip to Spain and winter holidays in Mexico and made many new friends. An avid sports fan, he loved watching the Jets, Bombers and Vikings. In earlier years he coached hockey, played touch football with the Combines, hockey and broomball with the CN Flyers, slow-pitch teams in the TK League, and with Aches and Pains, and Flashbacks. A celebration of Brian's life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 19, 2015 at Riverwood Community Church, 257 Riverton Avenue. A private family interment will be held in Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, the Manitoba Prostate Cancer Support Group, or a charity of choice. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to CancerCare Manitoba and the Palliative Care Unit on 3E at Riverview Health Centre for the professional and compassionate care Brian received during his time there.
