ALMA ANNA LINK On November 11, 2015 after a long and blessed life, our mother Alma Anna Link passed into eternity to be with her husband Hermann, with whom she shared 65 wonderful years of her life. She is also predeceased by her parents, Karl and Elisabeta Huber and siblings Karl, Ludwig and Gerda. Alma is survived by her daughter Margot (Richard); son Klaus (Frieda); grandson Ronald Heese (Tarina); granddaughter Vickie Heese (Dave Cracknell); along with great-grandchildren Taron, Ashley, Matthew and Anthony. Born on June 19, 1921 in Plankstadt, Germany she immigrated to Winnipeg, Canada in April 1952, with her children and her husband, with whom she worked tirelessly to support their family. Her support was instrumental in the realization of a dream with Hermann to own their own home, a cottage on the Winnipeg River and to prepare for retirement that would allow them to travel together and live in St. Augustine, Florida during the long and cold Winnipeg winters. Alma was a very sociable person who enjoyed life with her many friends. Hard work and long hours as a seamstress did not deter her from having a good time. Rarely did a weekend go by without hearing her laugh and sing along with her "Farm Family", enjoying the little brown jug, and "made-from-scratch" dampfnudel and margaritas, and the friendships that forged her life. She loved to cook and bake and her homemade breads, jams and marmalades were on everyone's list of must have's. She will be missed by her family and the extended "Farm Family" as well as many friends whose lives she touched in her journey through life. Thank you to Dr. S. Ahmad and the staff of Lindenwood Manor and the Victoria Hospital for their care and compassion. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on December 12, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the New Apostolic Church on 1755 Taylor Ave., Winnipeg, Manitoba. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Manitoba Division, 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3C 9Z9 or the New Apostolic Foreign Extension Fund.
