STELLA KREZANSKI April 26, 1918 - November 15, 2015 Stella passed away peacefully Sunday morning at the Betel Nursing Home in Selkirk, MB. Stella was predeceased by her husband Michael, of 39 years; parents William and Mary Kawka, and brothers Tony and Frank Kawka. She is survived by her children Gerald (Ann) and Norman (Jane); grandchildren Donald (Shelly), Richard (Candace), Eileen (John), Wayne (Amanda), Monica (Colin) and Kurt (Michelle); great-grandchildren Michael (Anne), Tyler, Eric, Mark, Mathew, Ainsley, Madison, Payton, Megan (Kyle), Ryan, Justin, Kaileigh (Brad), Sara-Jane, and Ilithyia; great-great-grandchildren Dahlia and Ariana; step-great-grandchildren Landon, Mina, Lidia and Sahara; and step-great-great-grandchild Maya. She is also survived by her sister Kay Lysak; sisters-in-law Mary and Pauline, and many nieces and nephews. Mother was born in Camp Morton, then moved to Saskatchewan where she attended school in Stony Beach. She then moved to Regina where she continued her education. At the age of 18 she returned to Camp Morton to care for her grandmother on the Kushnir farm. This is where she met the love of her life, Michael. They married January 29, 1938 and had two sons, Gerald and Norman. They built a home on a small farm north of Gimli with very little money, where they lived for many years. Mother enjoyed living on the farm for a number of years after father passed away. She spent many hours tending to her beautiful flowers and garden. Later she moved to Gimli and then on to the Aspen Park at the Gimli Airport. She then moved to the Rotary Towers which she enjoyed very much. She was the President of the Ladies League at the Sacred Heart Church and was involved in running the bingo as well as making perogies in the church basement. Mother was also an active member of the New Horizon Club. Mother also volunteered for Meals on Wheels, as well as driving many of her friends on errands. She spent many hours visiting people at the Betel Home in Gimli. Mother won many trophies in carpet bowling which involved a bit of travelling. She has done a number of trips with her friends to the West Coast up into Alaska, Eastern Canada and the States. Many thanks to the Gimli Hospital and Dr. Patel for all the good care she received in her stay there. A special thanks to the staff at the Betel Nursing Home, Selkirk for the wonderful care she received there. Mother said that everyone was very kind to her and she loved the home cooked food. The pallbearers are her six grandchildren at her request, Donald, Richard, Eileen, Wayne, Monica and Kurt. Divine liturgy will be celebrated Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic Church. Officiating will be by Rev. Fr. Mark Gnutel and Rev. Fr. Harry Chuckry. Interment will follow at the Gimli Community Cemetery. Vichnaya Pam'yat - Eternal Memory - Vichnaya Pam'yat In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Sacred Heart Church in Gimli, MB.
