MARLENE MARY DEFOORT On a beautiful November morning, surrounded by her family, our beloved wife, mother, and nanny peacefully passed away at St. Boniface Hospital, at the age of 73 years. Marlene Mary DeFoort (nee Corbett), born October 2, 1942, was married to Garry Allen DeFoort for 54 years and raised three children. Left to cherish her memory is her beloved husband Garry, daughter Barbara Wiens (husband Raymond), sons David (wife Diana) and Robert (wife Vanessa); grandchildren Shauna, Kelsey, Trent, Stacy, Terrance, Abby, Jenna; and great-grandchildren Destiny and Kaiden. She was a special person who lived for her family and constantly had baking for her family, friends and St. Boniface Dialysis unit. She always had little gifts for her grandchildren and was counted on for kind words and lots of hugs. Each one was made to feel special. We wish to give a special thank you to her son Robert for donating a kidney, which gave us an additional seven years of life and Dr. Rush for looking after her with that process. We also wish to acknowledge the wonderful care and compassion by the nurses at the St. Boniface Hospital. In keeping with Marlene's wishes, cremation has taken place and a come and go celebration of her life will be held on Friday, November 20, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Coutu Funeral Home, 680 Archibald Street. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, please send a donation in Marlene's memory to the Kidney Foundation of Canada. The Coutu Family in care of arrangements: E.J. COUTU & CO.
