MARY JEAN EPP After a courageous battle with cancer, Jean passed away peacefully at the Grace Hospice, surrounded by loved ones, on November 24, 2015. Jean was born and raised and received her education in Brandon. Jean realized she received many blessings throughout her life for which she was grateful for. In her earlier years, when her health permitted her, she enjoyed knitting her beautiful and unique sweaters for which she was known for. Jean loved music, dancing, traveling, dinner parties and meeting and making new friends. When Hank retired he and Jean enjoyed many car trips to the USA and later cruising with friends, which they enjoyed immensely. Jean will be greatly missed by everyone whose lives were touched by her warmth, compassion, generosity and sense of humour. She was a true friend in every sense of the word. Jean left this world as she lived it, with grace, dignity, courage and humour. She was predeceased in 1973 by her first husband of 27 years, Ray Peterson, and her second husband of 35 years, Henry (Hank) Epp in 2009, her parents Elva in 1972 and Bruce Galloway in 1975, also her stepson Gordon Epp in 1974, step-grandchildren Rielly in 1977, and Coraleah in 2011. She is survived by stepchildren Carol (Roger), and Randy (Linda), grandchildren Marlo, Kristy (Brian), and Travis (Val), five great-grandchildren, and sister-in-law Ella (Bob) Adams from Edmonton. The family sincerely appreciates Ruth and Bob Johnston, Harlyne and Gord Muys, Diane and George Gibson and especially Rev. Beth Rutherford for her spiritual support, friendship and caring, the Crestview Caring Circle for their unwavering love and support and also Dr. Hartley, and the nurses and staff for their excellent care while Jean was in the Grace Hospice. Funeral Services will be at Crestview United Church, 316 Hamilton Avenue on Monday, November 30, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Crestview United Church or to a charity of your choice. Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • I was taking care of Jean for quite some time as her home care worker. She was always a joy to see and lightened up my days. I was deeply saddened when I got the news that she went into hospice care & I wouldn't see her again. I will always be forever grateful for all the care she received while at the hospital. She was a wonderful lady with a beautiful and big heart. She will always be remembered and deeply missed by all :( Rest In Peace, Heaven gained a new angel on November 24th. I miss you already. - Posted by: Kendra (HomeCare Worker) on: Dec 17, 2015

  • Dearest Grandma, It is with great sadness and a very heavy heart to hear of your passing. I wish I could have told you all that I wanted to say to you in your final days. I will most certainly miss our long talks, will certainly miss your sense of humor, great advice and your beautiful laugh. You can now be reunited with Grandpa as he is waiting for you with open and loving arms. I miss you and love you both so very much. More than you'll ever know. I'm very proud to call you Grandma and I'm glad you were in my life for almost 40 years. I will love and cherish every moment we spent together and I will keep our memories close at heart. • We will miss Auntie Jean but are grateful to know she is now in heaven and free of pain and also reunited with many loved ones and friends. We have been gone from Canada for many years but saw Jean each summer when we came to Falcon Lake. - Posted by: Don and Julie Armson (Don is a cousin) on: Dec 01, 2015
