VIVIAN BODNARUK JAWORSKI Vivian Jaworski, 84, of Winnipeg passed quietly from this life early Friday morning, November 13, 2015 at the Charleswood Care Centre. Vivian was known as a fighter, courageously battling a number of serious illnesses before finally taking her rest to join her husband Charlie Jaworski, who preceded her in death in May of 2013. Born Vivian Jean Bodnaruk, she was the eight and final child born to Szczepan Bodnaruk and Malvina Zwarycz in Canora, Saskatchewan on September 17, 1931. She married her eventual lifelong sweetheart, Charlie, on September 26, 1953 in Brandon Manitoba. Vivian was known for her tireless support of her husband and children in making a home and raising a family. Vivian supported Charlie as he moved to various jobs with Manitoba Hydro in Winnipeg, Brandon, Dauphin and Thompson, Manitoba, adjusting and making a home for her family wherever they were stationed. Vivian was well known for her amazing meals, and was always in the kitchen cooking or preparing to cook for family and friends. In her later years she loved her grandchildren and enjoyed playing with them whenever she could get the chance. Her grandchildren loved when grandma would come because they knew that they would be getting her famous perogies and other traditional meals which she loved to prepare. Vivian enjoyed curling, gardening, casinos, polka music and loved to dance. She especially enjoyed her retirement years wintering in Weslaco, Texas with family and friends where she loved the frequent parties, get togethers and activities such as line dancing. Vivian is preceded in death by her dear companion Charlie, as well as all of her brothers and sisters. She is survived by her two children, Rick Jaworski of St. Simons Island, GA USA and Linda Michelle King of Huntington Beach, CA USA. Vivian was grandmother to five grandsons, Shawn King, Derek Jaworski, Christopher King, Brent Jaworski, and Joshua King; and had four great grandsons, Paul, Asher, Henry, and Kaleb King. Memorial services to celebrate her life will be held Thursday, December 3, at 7:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association. For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit our website. Chapel Lawn www.chapellawn.ca 204-885-9715

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • It came as a shock to hear of Aunt Vivian's death. She was a very gentle lady. I have a lot of great memories of she and Uncle Charlie. Aunt Vivian was the last of the Bodnaruk family. Another chapter closes. I wish Rick and Linda and their families the strength and courage they need at this time. Remember how great your Mom was. - Posted by: Terry Michalkow (nephew) on: Dec 02, 2015

  • I got to know Mrs. Jaworski when I worked for Charlie for a few years in Thompson. She was a very nice lady, an excellent host and just a nice person to be around. They were a wonderful couple who complimented one another. Rest in peace. - Posted by: Robert Crawley (Co worker of Charlies) on: Nov 29, 2015
