Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryF. JOHN HISSEY Born May 8, 1929, Southsea, England John passed away on November 25, 2015 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He leaves behind his surviving daughter Donna (Ernie and Amanda) of Vancouver; his wife Patricia (Pat) and her son Kevin (Katrina and Emma), her daughter Karen (Adam Samantha, Chris, Carter and Adaleigh), and relatives in the US and the UK. John was predeceased by his wife Eve while wintering in Mesa, his baby son Mark, and eldest daughter Lynne (Hap) in Vancouver. Leaving school at the age of 15 and a half he went into the British Army as an Apprentice Tradesman where he served overseas in Trieste, Cyprus and Malaysia. On leaving the army John worked for Philips Electronics Medical Division in London before transferring to Winnipeg in 1967. John worked in various cities in Canada spending the later years back in Winnipeg before retiring after 31 years with the company. He was a member of the Elmwood Legion serving over the years on various committees. John was also secretary of the now defunct Winnipeg Irish Club where he wrote and produced five Christmas Pantomimes as well as other social events. In Mesa he could be relied on to play his banjo and sing a ditty or two. At his request cremation has taken place and there will be no service. His last request is that on the Saturday after this notice please raise a glass and toast his life and memory.
