  • Although I have known Bro. Garry for only a few years, I have enjoyed fellowshipping with him and Sr. Ruth during Bible study weekends in Winnipeg. He always displayed a genuine smile and an optimistic attitude and one would be unaware of his many health struggles over several decades. I pray that our very kind and loving heavenly Father will continue His watch care over Sr. Ruth and the rest of the family, as well as with members of the Winnipeg ecclesia. Bro. Garry will be missed by many. May God grant you the strength and grace needed during this stressful time. In Christian love, Sr. Elinor, Houston, TX - Posted by: Elinor W. • I was thinking about Uncle Garry a couple weeks ago. Try as I might, I could NOT find a time in my memory where he wasn't smiling- usually grinning, saying "Ya, ya ya..." Every time we spoke, he sounded so genuinely excited to talk to me... And he had this... this cadence (?) to his voice that reminded me of a dad watching his kids ride their bikes or play ball for the first time. It sounded like "That's it! You can do it!" With EVERYTHING he said. We could have been talking about something horrible... But Uncle Garry had something positive to say. When I imagine Jesus, he sounds a lot like Uncle Garry. - Posted by: Janella Gowryluk (Neice) on: Dec 02, 2015

  • The world became a sadder place for me when I heard of Garry's passing. Our deepest condolences to Ruth, Andrew, Matthew, Jordan, Tara and their families. Garry was, I believe, the most cheerful, kind, easy going, trusting, loving and loyal person ever. Garry fought hard for many years, determined to see his children graduate, marry and meet his grandchildren. My heart breaks for all of you, and the song "Go Rest High on that Mountain" is dedicated to you Garry. Rest in Peace...... - Posted by: Carol and Glen Almey (Friends) on: Dec 01, 2015
