OLGA GEORGINA TARNOVESKI Suddenly, on Tuesday, December 8, 2015, Olga passed away. Olga was born in Bienfait, Saskatchewan on June 16, 1937 to George and Mary (Tokar) Tarnoveski. Her father was a coal miner, until 1941, then worked for the railway and the family moved frequently to little towns across the prairies until finally settling in Winnipeg. A quiet and independent woman, Olga left school early to start a life for herself, and traveled across Canada, settling in Toronto in 1963. Olga returned home to Winnipeg after her father's death to live and care for her mother and brother until their passing. Olga was a gentle soul with a kind heart. She loved her church, her books, crocheting, knitting and shopping. She especially loved her niece and nephews and their children. She was very proud of all of them. Her home was full of family pictures and she enjoyed family gatherings and visits with all of them until her health began to fail. Olga was predeceased by her father George in 1977, her mother Mary in 2000, and brother Mike in 2003. She is survived by her sister Anne Balagus; niece Mary Anne Lynch (Conor); nephews Peter Balagus (Susan) and John Balagus ( Jenna); grandnieces Ella and Olivia Lynch, Dana Balagus; grandnephews Nicholas Balagus, Noah, Jackson and Lucas Balagus; cousins Marge Koshman (Nick) in Yorkton, SK and Stella Fish ( Ted) in Thunder Bay, ON and their families. Funeral service will take place on 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 15 at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, 737 Bannerman Avenue, Winnipeg with Father Zachary Shwaluk, OSBM officiating.
