WAYNE GAR WAI PANG Peacefully, surrounded by his family, Wayne passed away on December 7, 2015, at the age of 82. He will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his wife, Lily; his children, Cindy (Croy), Michael (Dorothy), Eileen (Tom); his sister Shuet-Hing; his grandchildren, Nicholas, Madeline, Ryan, Avery, Maia and Sean, as well as many dear family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Stanley Yee Fung Pang and Gum Chun Cheung, and his older brother, Gar Bun. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Thomson "In the Park". WAYNE GAR WAI PANG Peacefully, surrounded by his family, Wayne passed away on December 7, 2015, at the age of 82. He will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his wife, Lily, his children Cindy (Croy), Michael (Dorothy), Eileen (Tom), his sister Shuet-Hing, his grandchildren, Nicholas, Madeline, Ryan, Avery, Maia, and Sean, as well as many dear family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Stanley Yee Fung Pang and Gum Chun Cheung, and his older brother, Gar Bun. Wayne was born on July 21, 1933, in Guanghai, China. In 1945, he went to Hong Kong and studied at the Pui Ching Middle School. In 1954, he immigrated to Canada, arriving first in Vancouver, and later moving to Winnipeg. It was here in Winnipeg that Wayne met Lily and they were married in 1964. Wayne attended school at Red River Community College and trained to be a draftsman. He worked for many years with Dominion Bronze Ltd and Indal Wall Systems, and later for Builders Federal in Hong Kong until his retirement. Wayne took great joy in living for the Lord over many decades. He served at the Chinese United Church over several decades, teaching Sunday School, leading Bible studies, and serving on many committees. In recent years, Wayne was blessed to become a part of a loving church family closer to home, the Fort Garry Evangelical Mennonite Church. Though his health made it very difficult for him to physically attend worship for the last two years, his faith remained strong and he continued to be encouraged and supported by the ongoing prayers of support and caring of brothers and sisters. Wayne had an enthusiasm for golf which he enjoyed for many, many years. Golfing was a means of relaxation, which he did as often as he could fit it in during his working years. After retirement, it became a part of his routine as he golfed almost every day each season at St. Boniface Golf Course, up until the age of 80. Many dear friendships were forged on many miles of fairways and greens, hundreds of hours of healthy competition, fresh air and companionship. Wayne lived a life of gratitude, always thankful for whatever circumstance came his way. He felt blessed with family and friends and enjoyed many happy times with them. In health, or in sickness, he saw each day as a gift from the Lord. The family would like to extend special thanks for the medical care provided to Wayne to Dr. J. Johnston, Dr. D. Khangura and Dr. L. Garber for helping to navigate his complex health issues over the past two years, and to Dr. P. Griffin and the countless kind and caring nurses at the Victoria General Hospital ICU over the last week of his life. In his last days, Wayne was filled with appreciation and thankfulness for your help, as we continue to be. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at Thomson in the Park.
