Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGORDON STILL It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing, with family by his side, of James Gordon Still, father, grandfather, great- grandfather, on December 9, 2015. Gordon was predeceased by his wife Jean of 65 years. He is survived and will be sadly missed by his children Barry (Karen), Doug (Mary), Kathy (Ernie) and Susie (Ian); grandchildren Angie, Michelle, Laura, Brittany, Leah, Jim, Jessie, Daniel, Brendin and Chase; great grandsons Bantam and Jory; brothers Everett (Pat) and Gary; sister Myrna; sisters-in-law Yvonne, Lorraine, Diane and Lylene as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Gordon was born on February 20, 1926 and was the oldest of the nine children of Jim and Bessie Still. He grew up in Old England and went to school in Mapleton where he met his wife Jean. He served in the Royal Canadian Airforce on the air crew as an air gunner and later had numerous jobs. Most of his working life he was a taper/painter and his last 11 working years were spent as a paint instructor at Stony Mountain Penitentiary. Gordon was a proud longtime member of the Legion. He loved to tell stories, walking, nature, fishing, camping, gardening, making canes and playing crib. He loved spending time with his family and was always there to give a helping hand. A memorial service will be held Thursday, December 17, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Good Shepherd Church, 106 Sawchuk Dr., St. Andrew's (just south of the rolling mills) with Rev. Ken Pawluk officiating. The family would like to say thank you to the staff of Tudor House and Selkirk Hospital for their special care of dad.
